One of the most common things I get asked when handing over the keys to the next customer is ‘Where do you recommend we go explore?’ So I thought I’d put together a couple of my favourite places to go in the van around Cornwall.
Penwith Heritage Coast
Particularly if you drive along the B3306, the views along here are incredible and it’s such a fun road. The Atlantic Ocean on one side of you, rolling hillside the other, as well as a landscape peppered with Engine houses and other heritage sites. There’s plenty of coves areas to park up and explore as well as Botallack and Levant mines which adds a bit of history to the day. A definite favourite area.
Falmouth and the Helford area
Falmouth is one of the hub towns of Cornwall, with a prominent art and sailing scene making it a good place to wander round. If you want more of a countryside experience, then the Helford river area is a must. There’s plenty of places to drive around park up and explore and plenty of village pubs too. Check out the Shipwrights and the Ferry boat inn. Set on opposite sides of the Helford river, they run a boat service between the two, which is a great way to get to the pub!
St Agnes Head & Godrevy
On to the North coast now and if sunset spots are your thing then check out either Godrevy and the North Cliffs area, or St Agnes Head. Both are high cliff tops with amazing panoramic views over the ocean, providing the perfect Sunset back drop
